Dostavba a úprava náměstí Míru

The subject of the competition is the design of public space and urban development, as well as a functional use that enhances and develops the character of the given location, with an emphasis on utilizing the potential of public space. The appearance of the public space of Peace Square has long been inadequate and requires a conceptual and comprehensive approach to planning its development. Particularly unsuitable is the solution of the tram loop in combination with the routing of surface communications and their crossings. The future form of the square should offer a dignified and safe public space that can be used as a social and recreational place for the residents of the neighborhood. The location is suitable for placing functions of local and city-wide significance, serving as a natural center for the district and a starting point for visiting institutions and social events in the area, including at Kraví hora.

First prize - 1,150,000 CZK
Second prize - 900,000 CZK
Third prize - 650,000 CZK
For proposals that are not awarded but have brought remarkable partial ideas and solutions, an amount of 450,000 CZK is allocated for awards.
