Extension of the headquarters of VSF Novotný in Trojanovice

Our friends, and supporters of timber architecture, Martin and Jirka Novotný, approached us with a proposal to collaborated on an extension to their Company’s premises, located in our beloved Trojanovice. The existing building houses the company’s headquarters and a shop. We propose an extension constructed from CLT timber panels and subtle steel columns. An addition of outdoor seating area at the ground floor and external window shutters to complete. We recommend that the outside space is radically simplified and unified.
We designed the ground floor retail part as a single large open space with a ceiling of exposed reinforced concrete panels. A reinforced concrete staircase, design to appear as “a statue in space”. The upper storey contains offices and meeting rooms and is fully glazed with picture glass panels in the direction of the Radhošť panorama. A wooden terrace and a green roof to facilitate relaxation.
