Forest cabin

Forest cabin
Architect: Jan Fabián
Address: Czech Republic
Completion:2021

Why should anyone have a house that can open all the shutters, but which doesn’t have a single glass window, only mosquito nets? Why a small stove in such an object? The answer is quite predictably „and why not“. It may also be heard that thanks to the border locations of this building, it is possible to perceive a given place in a different way, which can be „cut“ at any time of year or time of day. And together with the limits of the object, to perceive the limits of one’s own body, comfort or just discomfort, which is so fashionable to constantly eliminate. This is the main triad of this object - in the relationship of body, space and specificity of a site. Forest cabin, as an object that has recycled a lot of materials, is a challenge in the user sense, it is about overcoming the details of your own comfort, about small decisions, what is currently needed and what is not and is mainly about connecting with the environment, which penetrates through more than intensively.
