The lighting fixtures from Preciosa Lighting are the result of an imaginative approach to traditional craftsmanship and precision handwork. Thanks to advanced technologies and new manufacturing possibilities, stunning light installations are created, proving that although the possibilities of glass are limited, this material has the ability to push the boundaries of our imagination.

Handmade chandeliers from Preciosa Lighting are unique artistic pieces made possible by a love for craftsmanship, knowledge passed down through generations, enthusiasm for design and innovation, and a determination to overcome challenges, bringing light and an unmistakable atmosphere to interiors.

An Endless Source of Inspiration

The combination of crystal and light represents an inexhaustible source of inspiration for Preciosa. In designing lighting fixtures, they utilize modern virtual prototyping methods, allowing them to reveal all critical design points and accurately distribute proportions even on the computer. This allows the company to produce, for example, much larger and richer chandeliers than before, while maintaining the same weight.

Timeless Concepts of Signature Designs

The products from the Signature Designs portfolio represent original and timeless lighting concepts that designers can perfectly tailor to the proposed interior and customize to the specific requirements of the customer. Each concept offers various sizes, compositions, colors, materials, or finishes, structural principles, and lighting methods. The effects of the installations have garnered numerous positive responses at various international design exhibitions. “The design variations that can be created make Signature Designs our strategic concepts,” says Michael Vasku, creative director of Preciosa Lighting.

Interactive Installations

Breath of Light is the name of one of the design concepts from the Signature Designs portfolio, which has won prestigious awards including the Red Dot Design Award and the German Design Award. The dominant visual element of this fixture is handmade crystal spheres. Preciosa Lighting first presented this light installation at Euroluce 2018 in an interactive version, where it could be illuminated by breath, thanks to breath sensors. This introduced a whole new way of activating the light fixture and provided visitors with an extraordinary experience. “Breath of Light can create smiles and surprise on people’s faces. It allows people to enjoy the glow of crystal in a completely new light. By using special sensors, they can interact with the installation and with each other, awakening it to life with their breath. Just one exhale can spark a delightful light play,” describes Michael Vasku.

From Ceiling to Floor

Another design concept in the Signature Designs series is Pearl Curtain. This concept, which boasts awards including Light Middle East, the iF Design Award, and the [d]arc Awards, aims to encourage designers to abandon established notions and not be afraid to stretch a chandelier from the ceiling to the floor. The concept was introduced in an interactive version, where the light responded to expressions of love and human connection. Thanks to motion detection and measuring the distance between two people, the entire installation lit up when people embraced beneath it.

“Experiencing moments without digital substitutes means true joy in life. That’s why we wanted to show as many visitors as possible how our light installations can evoke genuine emotions,” says the creative director of Preciosa Lighting, who adds that the lighting of Pearl Curtain can enliven a space even in its static form thanks to its playful design.

Peals, Crystal, Opal

Another of the Signature Designs is the Pearl Wave fixture. It was presented as an interactive installation on a ship, creating light effects that responded to the clinking of glasses during toasts.

The same series includes Pearl Drop, composed of pearls, crystal, triplex opal, and metallic beads resembling the "knots" of a pearl necklace. Another unique feature of Pearl Drop is its internal metal frame, whose construction is so sturdy that the fixture does not require additional support and can be installed in places like narrow stairwells.

One of the most flexible concepts from the Signature Designs portfolio is Inspiral – a fixture made up of thousands of cut crystal prisms that can effectively bend light and break it into the colors of the rainbow.

New Diamond Cloud

An absolute novelty in the Signature Designs portfolio is the light installation named Diamond Cloud, highlighting the optical properties of crystal, specifically its ability to fascinatingly bend light. The fixture, cut using diamonds, consists of rods with a triangular cross-section, the composition, size, and method of suspension of which can be tailored to any interior. A variety of surface finishes and cuts can also be chosen to create a unique and unrepeatable artistic creation.
