Security squared, this is how one of the main functional properties of X-TEND® stainless steel nets can be characterized, which are favored by renowned architects, designers, and planners around the world. X-TEND® stainless steel nets are a proprietary product of a originally small family business from Germany, founded in 1880, now a globally recognized and still family-owned company Carl Stahl, setting trends in the field of rope, lifting, safety, and binding technology, which has more than 60 branches on 5 continents. They have been operating in the Czech market since 1994 in Prague and now also in Slavkov u Brna. The top-notch properties of their X-TEND® stainless steel nets are utilized by individuals, municipalities, significant medium and large companies, and multinational corporations.

Stainless steel nets provide a wide range of applications

Due to their unique properties, X-TEND® stainless steel nets offer a wide spectrum of uses. From construction, pergolas, various roofing, self-supporting aviaries, escape staircases, to railings with safety functions against falls, as well as design solutions for greening houses or as a unique design element for interiors.

•    highly functional material with long lifespan
•    lightweight, airy, and simultaneously strong with load capacity of several tons
•    provides safety against animal escapes and falls of people and objects
•    easily permeable to light and very strong at the same time
•    can also be constructed as a self-supporting structure
•    has a stable shape with the possibility of 3D shaping
•    suitable for snow load as well
•    maintenance-free + supporting structures for greening various areas
•    visually interesting design complement
•    environmentally friendly

Custom production of X-TEND® nets

Custom-produced X-TEND® nets have their own technical certification ETA (European Technical Approval ETA – 13/0650), confirming the use of X-TEND® stainless steel nets as a securing element against falls (both horizontal and vertical). Certification from the German Institute for Construction Technology (Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik) for the use of nets as infill for railings is also standard. During production, stainless steel ropes and compression clamps are connected into a firm and flexible structure. The strong character of the nets, which can withstand extremely high loads, is ensured by the opposite winding of the steel ropes. The production method allows the creation of an endless net while maintaining maximum stability. X-TEND® nets are made from high-quality stainless steel ropes of material class AISI 1.4401, with standard diameters of 1 mm, 1.5 mm, 2 mm, 3 mm, and 4 mm. Depending on the diameter of the rope, it is possible to manufacture mesh widths of 25 - 200 millimeters or higher. Stainless steel ropes are available in diameters from 1 mm to 26 mm.

Many successful implementations across the Czech and Slovak Republics

Get inspired by Carl Stahl's projects: The complete cladding of the Hýlačka lookout tower near Tábor - part of the project was to secure the internal and external staircases against falls and to secure the viewpoint with X-TEND® stainless steel nets in an arch shape. As part of another project at the beginning of 2015, stainless steel nets were installed on the facade of the CTPark building. Not even half a year passed and the hall boasts a green cover extending almost halfway up the facade, and the greenery is still expanding. X-TEND® nets also protect children from possible falls on climbing frames. A design and highly functional solution for securing playgrounds and climbing frames was implemented by Carl Stahl in early May 2015. A stainless steel net X-TEND® with a mesh size of 60 x 104 mm, made from 2 mm ropes, was chosen as the safety barrier.
