Since December of this year, Modernista, a Prague seller of exclusive design and replicas, has become the new partner of the myCode design portal. The extensive portfolio of several thousand carefully selected products from renowned global brands has now been enriched with functionalist furniture and lamps. Among the presented products, we can also find a chaise longue by Adolf Loos, designs by Jindřich Halabala, as well as exclusive collections by Jiří Pelcl.

The history of Modernista began in 1999 as an online store, and two years later it continued with the opening of a "physical" shop on Konviktská Street in Prague's Old Town. After a year, Modernista and its selection of carefully restored original pieces of furniture from the 1930s began to regularly appear in the pages of both Czech and foreign interior and design magazines. In 2003, Modernista established an exclusive collaboration with the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague. The first fruits of this collaboration were a collection of reproductions of decorative objects designed between 1911 and 1920 by Czech Cubist architects Josef Gočár, Pavel Janák, and Vlastislav Hofman. The collection was well received both at home and abroad and is sold, among other places, in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

In addition to Czech Cubism, Modernista is also interested in Czech design of the 20th century in general. An exclusive collaboration with the heirs of the significant Czech furniture designer Jindřich Halabala enabled the production of several models of chairs and armchairs that were produced according to Halabala's designs by the Brno company Spojené UP závody between the wars. Other famous designs that Modernista has reintroduced to production include the legendary tea set by Ladislav Sutnar and the upholstered deck chair by architect Adolf Loos. In December 2006, Modernista opened a new store on the busy Celetná Street in the historic center of Prague, where a representative showcase of modern Czech design from the beginning of the 20th century to the present will gradually be created.
