The July issue of INTRA with the subtitle Metal brings once again the best of domestic and world architecture. Besides contemporary buildings, you will find sculptural works, a meditative path, a reconstruction of a 14th-century castle, a cemetery in Banská Bystrica, airships, or even poetry vending machines...

A diverse and inspiring issue focusing on architectural works, prominently featuring metal in all its forms, opens with the words of architect Josef Pleskot, who succinctly summarizes his fascination with this material by saying: “I admire steel structures!” Eric Owen Moss also discusses steel in architecture in the following pages, as well as deconstructivism and memories of Prague, which he calls “a fascinating Kafkaesque city.”

In the fifteenth regular issue of INTRA, you will also find interviews with architect Petr Janda about his work related to water and sculptor Čestmír Suška about his “hunt for tanks.” “It was magical: among the old junk and battered pots, a beautiful hemisphere shone (…). It was indescribably beautiful! Nevertheless, I left it there,” the artist recounts, adding that he then dreamed about it at night: “I woke up all sweaty and suddenly knew clearly that I had to have it!”

The high-voltage mast Bog Fox by the studio PART Architects is also connected to sculpture, and poetry vending machines, which Ondřej Kobza has introduced, are gradually appearing in the Czech landscape.

INTRO will also present two paths – one red and one corten – an atypical duplex apartment in Prague with a dominant blue staircase designed by the studio SMLXL, a Brazilian family house Casa Clara with a facade featuring decorative elements called cobogó, and a glimpse into the history of polar flights. Of course, this time, you can also look forward to regular columns by Petr Šmídka and Petr Volf and twenty-five pages dedicated to materials and technologies. You can order the new issue or subscription at the INTRA website.
