Interior of Slivenec Kindergarten

Last year, a new kindergarten for 112 children was opened in Slivenec, solving a long-standing problem of insufficient capacity in local kindergartens. The two-story building is energy-efficient and was constructed using materials with the least ecological footprint possible. The character of the building required an individualized approach during the design of the interior, respecting the overall concept of the kindergarten. Everything was solved with the modular construction system Fantasy, fully meeting the client's requirements for a playful, colorful, and variable space that visually connects to the atypical kindergarten and sets new standards for child-friendly and safe interiors.



Each floor has two classrooms designated for 28 children. All classrooms have their own changing rooms, sanitary facilities, dining area, and technical background in addition to the play and sleeping rooms. The layout of the individual departments is identical, differing only in the various colors of the furniture. The playrooms are equipped with tables with height-adjustable metal bases. The laminate surface of these tables (high-pressure laminate) combined with beech wood exhibits increased resistance to mechanical damage and humidity. Chairs with flexible metal bases and ergonomically shaped seats support proper posture while sitting. For maximum safety, the metal hinges of the rotating doors are equipped with dampers for safe closing. The furniture wheels are braked and have a rubberized surface.

The children's favorite items became mobile cabinets with a special handle providing combined storage space. These cabinets, which essentially make up the variable Fantasy cabinet system, received the Red Dot Award: Winner 2014 this year. The playfulness and practicality of the Fantasy cabinets are enhanced by the version with magnetic backs. This design enables the use of magnetic building blocks and underscores the educational character of the product. The specially designed handle embedded in the edge of the doors eliminates the risk of injury and creates a specific visual element for the cabinets. Fantasy also offers users the opportunity to participate in the character of the interior and customize it according to their own ideas. Cabinets can be fitted with uniquely designed graphics in the form of foil wrapping.
