Custom radius according to architect's requirements

A key feature of the DSCU is the ability to manufacture with a precise arc radius based on the specific project – with increments of individual millimeters from a minimum value of 2000 mm. Thus, the architect does not need to adapt the design to the manufacturer's offerings but vice versa. The diffuser is available in single-row, double-row, and triple-row configurations, either as a standalone piece with an arc length of up to 1500 mm or as an assembly covering any length of curved lines in one visually continuous strip. Installation can be done either by a fixed connection to a plenum box or using a clamping bracket, and in both cases, access from the opposite side of the ceiling is not required.

Curved diffusers DSCU are exclusively intended for installation in ceilings and where rounding is required. For straight lines or square or trapezoidal arrangements, SCHAKO offers slot diffusers DSC, which can be combined with DSCU within one space.

This solution has been used, for example, in the Forum Liberec shopping center, where a double-row curved variant was deployed in combination with straight and corner elements from the DSC series – an ideal choice where air conditioning needs to remain visually discreet and not disrupt the smooth line of the architecture.

Technology that does not lose performance with curvature

Central adjustable blades play a crucial role in the DSCU: thanks to them, the free cross-section of the diffuser remains the same regardless of the position of the blade. This means that neither the pressure loss nor the acoustic performance level changes with the adjustment of the direction of air flow – thus, the flow regulation can be further adjusted on-site at any time without affecting acoustics. The airflow can be bidirectional or, depending on the space arrangement, always directed one way.

A large free cross-section ensures a higher airflow compared to other slot diffusers while maintaining low pressure loss. Investors can therefore choose smaller and more economical air conditioning units, which translates into lower operating costs and energy consumption – an advantage especially for buildings striving for carbon-neutral operation, whether it be passive family homes or large structures with glass facades, where these properties help meet strict European standards and pave the way for certifications like BREEAM.

Thanks to stable air flow and high induction, the DSCU can be used in cooling mode up to ΔTo ≤ -8 K, even in systems with variable air flow without loss of flow stability. The resistance posed by the blades also ensures uniform air distribution along the entire length of the arc, which is particularly crucial for long assemblies.

Curved slot diffusers are supplied in designs for both supply and exhaust air. Connection to the ductwork is ensured by a plenum box with a plan radius, which can be optionally equipped with a control damper or external thermal insulation in cases where the terminal element is used for distributing cool air.
