Autodesk, the global leader in 2D and 3D design software for manufacturing, construction, media, and entertainment, has announced the first fully localized version of Revit Architecture for the Czech market. Through this investment, Autodesk demonstrates the importance of the Czech market and its progressive technology Revit utilizing the BIM (Building Information Modeling) method. The company also announces the launch of the web project svobodaprostoru.cz. The site www.svobodaprostoru.cz, aimed at Czech architects and architecture students, provides a wealth of information including a complete overview of freely accessible workshops for Revit software, a summary of customer experiences with Autodesk, an offer of a 30-day free trial of the software, information on the Revit Open competition, and more.

The fully localized Revit Architecture software comes with content reflecting Czech-specific standards, norms, and customs. Architects and construction designers thus have documentation materials for building documentation tailored to Czech norms and requirements from the very start. The BIM method represents an integrated process based on coordinated, reliable information about the project, from design through construction to operational processes. With the help of the BIM method, architects, engineers, and designers can easily create fully coordinated construction documentation containing digital project information. These data are then used for more accurate visualization, simulation, and performance analysis regarding appearance and costs, allowing them to reliably deliver projects faster, more economically, and with a gentler impact on the environment.

“The investment in Revit technology in the Czech Republic demonstrates how important the Czech and Slovak markets are for Autodesk. We see Revit as a fundamental tool for the BIM method. The BIM method, which Autodesk was the first to utilize, is a revolutionary technology currently used by most leading architectural firms and construction companies worldwide,” says Patrik Minks, Business Manager for Construction Solutions at Autodesk. “The Czech version of Revit brings advantages to architects and construction designers in terms of increased productivity, opportunities for sustainable design, and easier communication among different professions.”
“In direct relation to this, the new project svobodaprostoru.cz has emerged in the Czech Republic, representing a new communication platform for the Revit Architecture solution,” adds P. Minks. “Everyone wishes for the realization of their visions and dreams to be as free as possible. Free from compromises and full of new ideas. We at Autodesk want projects that architects, designers, and their clients dream about to be created easily, smoothly, and with the help of the most modern tools. 3D modeling using Revit brings new and enormous possibilities. That’s why we created a site where freedom of space reigns.”

Svobodaprostoru.cz is a website divided into several main sections, which are regularly updated. Visitors will find a summary of all available free workshops for the Revit software, as well as experiences from other customers who are already using Revit. Architects can also order a trial thirty-day version of the Revit program for free, while students and recent graduates have the opportunity to download complete documentation for registration in the Revit Open competition. Revit represents a technology that allows architects, designers, and investors to understand and analyze a project even in its early stages and to make changes at minimal costs. One way to construct buildings and homes that are less demanding on natural and energy resources is through the use of modern design technologies. It is important to understand that while there is maximum opportunity to influence the final shape and function of a building during its design phase, this ability is nearly zero during the construction phase. The second law is that the costs of any changes increase relentlessly as the project proceeds.

One of the benefits of the Revit platform, alongside increased productivity and seamless communication among various fields, is the concept of sustainable design. “Sustainable design means creating designs that respect the principles of sustainable development. In practice, this means that even at the product or building design stage, it is possible to find out how much material will be consumed, how much energy is needed for operation, and how the environment will be impacted overall. There is always a way to create or build with minimal impact, and using BIM, an ideal design can be created based on established boundary conditions,” adds P. Minks.
