Autodesk announces the acquisition of Hanna Strategies

Autodesk, a global leader in 2D and 3D design software for manufacturing, construction, media, and entertainment, has completed the acquisition of Hanna Strategies, a software development services provider with development centers in Shanghai, China, Atlanta, US, and Pune, India. In 2006, Autodesk acquired an ownership stake in Hanna Strategies, and it is now acquiring the remaining shares in the company. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Autodesk and Hanna Strategies have worked closely together for the past five years on developing Autodesk's design software for manufacturing and construction. This acquisition will reinforce Autodesk's efforts in developing solutions for digital prototyping and BIM (Building Information Modeling) methods in 3D and 2D.
The merging of two top-tier development entities into one Autodesk team will enhance the efficiency and capacity of Autodesk's development operations. This unified team will also increase opportunities to attract and develop the best technically-oriented students and experienced professionals in China.
Samir Hanna, President, and Chien-Ming Huang, CEO of Hanna Strategies, will transition to Autodesk upon completion of the acquisition. Samir Hanna will take on the role of Vice President of Manufacturing Solutions Division, while Chien-Ming Huang will become Vice President of the Autodesk China Application Development Center.
