The Scientific Research Institute of the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, in collaboration with the National Gallery in Prague, invites you to a symposium
Creating the History of Contemporary Art
on Wednesday, May 30, 2012, from 10 AM to 6 PM
in the auditorium of the Veletržní Palace National Gallery, Dukelských hrdinů 47, Prague 7.
The symposium is held on the occasion of the exhibition Islands of Resistance. Between First and Second Modernity 1985–2012 and the publication of the anthology Czech Art 1980–2010. Texts and Documents.
Contributions will be presented by Milena Bartlová, Karel Císař, Vlasta Čiháková-Noshiro, Ondřej Chrobák, Tomáš Svoboda, Václav Janoščík, Karina Kottová, Josef Ledvina, Helena Musilová, and Tomáš Pospiszyl (see preliminary program in the attachment).
All speakers and participants will have free admission to the exhibition on the day of the symposium (from 9 AM).
After the symposium, at 6:30 PM, the launch of the exhibition catalog Islands of Resistance will take place in the café of the Veletržní Palace.
