or How the British are preparing for an economically and ecologically uncertain future, as seen in the film In Transition 2.0 and from the perspective of a Czech – a talk by Veronika Frélichová about her four-month internship in England.

Motto: “A future without oil can be better than the present if we use our imagination and creativity.” Rob Hopkins Transition Towns are still a relatively new, globally spreading concept that responds to the issues of peak oil and climate change. It is a model of community initiative that seeks local practical solutions to problems related to climate change and peak oil. In practice, the Transition Towns initiative is formed by a group of people, residents of a particular city or area, who work together on activities and projects related to topics such as local food, energy savings, support for the local economy, and more. The screening of the film about the Transition Towns initiative and the discussion with Veronika Frélichová from the Department of Environmental Studies at Masaryk University in Brno is organized by the regional center Moravská brána PRO-BIO of the Union of Organic Farmers based in Příbor.
