The Center for New Architecture in Ostrava and the architectural magazine Era21 are organizing a discussion event about architecture, its education, and architectural schooling.
The round table discussion (not only) of architects on the topic of the present and future of architectural education will take place on Friday, June 16, 2006, in Ostrava, starting at 4:00 PM in the social hall of the Ostrava City Library, on the 3rd floor of its new building on the waterfront of the Ostravice River at Tř. 28. října 2.
Participants in the debate, which will be moderated by Era21 editor Rostislav Koryčánek, have confirmed their participation as discussants Jakub Kynčl, Ladislav Lábus, František Sedláček, Aleš Student, Jiří Suchomel, and Yvette Vašourková. Admission to the event is free.
The event will be preceded by the opening of an exhibition of several diploma projects by young architects in the passage of the Ostrava City Library, which will serve as an illustrative introduction to the topic: The exhibition, opening at 2 PM, will present, in addition to several older student projects (architects Václavík, Sykorský), the diploma project by Pavel Nasadil titled "Ideal Hlučín".
