KRUH and Four Days are pleased to invite you to an extraordinary lecture held as part of the project Four Cities in Motion. During the lecture evening, the architects' association Sporaarchitects and the Center for Contemporary Hungarian Architecture Kék will present themselves. Sporaarchitects is an association of architects, designers, and builders working in the fields of architecture, urbanism, research, and development, and they refer to themselves as a "multidisciplinary office." They have received the award for the Best Design of the Year 2005 and 2006 awarded by Hungarian media (Architectural Award of Hungarian Media – Best plan of the year 2005, 2006). Currently, their design for two stations of the new line of the Budapest metro is being realized. In the center of Budapest, a multifunctional complex for housing, theater, and dance is being developed according to their design. In 2007, they received an honorable mention in a competition for the design of a new government headquarters. The presentation of the Sporaarchitects studio will be complemented by a lecture from the Center for Contemporary Hungarian Architecture Kék. Representatives of the center will introduce their activities focused on organizing lectures, discussions, workshops, exhibitions, walks, and presentations. The aim of the projects is to draw attention to current trends in Hungarian architecture, define the cultural and social role of architecture in the contemporary world, and create an environment for discussion about architecture between professionals and the general public. In February of this year, a lecture by KRUH and contemporary Czech architects took place at the Center for Contemporary Hungarian Architecture Kék.
