Brno Film Evenings with Architecture II.
Two-day film festival about architecture at the ART cinema in Brno
December 11 and 12, B. Bakala Hall
The Civic Association CENTRUM ARCHITEKTURY, in collaboration with the Brno Cultural Centre, is preparing the second edition of a themed evening on architecture for the general public on December 11 and 12, 2008.
The dramaturgy of the evenings is conceived as an overview of possible approaches to presenting architecture - a feature film, a documentary, and, if possible, an experimental film will be selected for the evening.
PROGRAM:
Alvaro Siza: Transforming Reality 2004
Architect A. Siza discusses his work with top architectural historian Kenneth Frampton, who names Siza as one of the most important architects of our time.
Pessac - Life in a Laboratory
The film follows a typical day in houses built by Le Corbusier in the 1920s. The footage shows how residents have abandoned Le Corbusier's original concept over the decades to feel at home within their four walls.
It's Fun To Be Bohemian
A video documentary about the former Czech neighborhood of Pilsen in Chicago, presented by its authors.
Great Expectations
The film presents innovative, futuristic, utopian, and sometimes bizarre architectural projects from the early twentieth century to the present.
Kochuu: Japanese Architecture
A documentary film about modern Japanese architecture, its roots, and its influences on Scandinavian architecture.
Bata-ville
An original and engaged documentary nostalgically recalls the corporation that was once a prototype of modern business and social life.
