After the original wooden lattice structure of the bell tower decayed again and the bell cast in 1740 was perfectly cleaned and treated, we deliberated on what form to choose for the Jamná bell tower.
There is neither a church nor a chapel in the village, and therefore, a form was chosen for the new bell tower that would, in its expression and symbolism, come as close as possible to these traditional gathering places, not only serving the role of a bell tower but speaking to visitors in the mysterious language of symbols. The new, more stable small sacred architecture made of classic materials was inspired by the number THREE.
The base consists of three crooked oak logs forming a tripod, referencing the curvature and twisting of human life's paths, converging at a single point, a small cross at the top. Each leg of the tripod carries a simple symbol of the Holy Trinity - Father, Son, Holy Spirit. The simple, unembellished engravings are painted red, the color of life. The three divine forms intertwine into a single voice of the bell. On the ground under the bell, a serpent in the form of a sculpture crawls from the consecrated place as a symbol of sin, temptation - there is no place for it in the consecrated area. In the distance, the roof of the bell tower shines, formed from three copper triangles connected at the apex with a cross. The seemingly oversized roof on solid foundations refers to a firm and endless faith. One leg of the tripod marked with a cross, the symbol of Jesus Christ, God - the Son, stands in a way that allows each incoming person to meet Jesus.
It is commendable that the creation of this small structure, which in no way seeks to appeal superficially, involved a total of 21 citizens from the surrounding area of Jamný. It is hard to believe that the sum of 2+1 = 3 ...
