From a part of the Brno monastery, a luxury hotel could be created

Brno - In the baroque wing of the monastery at Brno's Mendl Square, there could be a four-star hotel and conference center in the future. This information was obtained by ČTK from the investor's announcement to the authorities for assessing the environmental impact of the construction. The costs of the reconstruction could be around 200 million crowns.
    The entire complex of buildings is a cultural heritage site and is surrounded by a park. Currently, it is used for multiple functions, including housing the Augustinian monastery and an exhibition dedicated to Johann Gregor Mendel.
    The Morávka Centrum company is considering converting the space into a hotel for 50 guests with a restaurant for 100 people. Its project manager, Marta Brabcová, told ČTK that the reconstruction would involve the part of the estate where there are currently medical offices and administrative offices, or sections that are currently unused.
    When the project could be realized, after obtaining all the necessary permits, it is said to be too early to tell. "We are only applying for a zoning decision. It could be in a year, in two, in five, or in ten," said Brabcová.
    A covered atrium, used as a reception and winter garden for hotel guests, is to be created from part of the courtyard. The project also includes the expansion of the existing parking lot near the building and modifications to the park.
    Currently, according to available information, there are six four-star hotels in Brno offering about a thousand rooms. There is only one five-star hotel in Brno.
