Cheb - On the land of the former bicycle factory Eska in Cheb, the company Tex Protis plans to build a commercial complex. This will be further rented out to various companies. The construction will cost about 70 million crowns, and the repair of the only remaining building from the factory will cost another ten to 12 million crowns. Other buildings on the Eska site were demolished last year. This is reported by today's Mladá fronta Dnes (MfD) in the regional supplement. Up to eight interested parties could find a place in the new shopping center in so-called retail units with separate entrances, said investor representative Oldřich Růžička. Discussions with potential tenants are currently ongoing, but he did not wish to disclose the names of the companies yet. "It will definitely not be food chains. We are preparing documentation for the zoning process, and we have completed a project for the revitalization of the original building on the site," Růžička said. On the site of the demolished buildings, a single-story new building will rise over 4000 square meters. Tex Protis is also considering a parking lot and transportation connections. However, there could be issues with access to the site from Pražská Street, which is heavily used by visitors to the neighboring Tesco. As Cheb Mayor Jan Svoboda stated, the city will insist on such a traffic connection that will not worsen the already not very good situation in the area. "This could be a problem, but according to the traffic designer, it is not unsolvable. One option is a roundabout," noted Růžička, according to whom several possible solutions are being worked on. Tex Protis is clear about the financing of the construction. "We want to secure the larger part of the costs with bank loans, and the rest from private sources," Růžička stated. The company Tex Protis is represented by Vietnamese managing director Lanzaro Tru Dang Quoc. Recently, Lanzaro rented the Cheb market Dragoun. However, the fears of the people of Cheb that another Vietnamese market will be built on the site will probably not come true. An alternative to the unattractive stalls is also offered by the owner of the market in Svatý Kříž, where several dozen brick-and-mortar shops and apartments have been created on the first floor.
