Zlín - The Vsetín Hospital has completed a extensive reconstruction of the former infectious diseases pavilion. The children's department and the department of medical microbiology will also move into the new building. The complete renovation of the building cost 102 million korunas, with the state contributing 88 million. The repairs lasted nearly five years. The hospital's spokesperson Jana Oborná informed ČTK today. The construction has already been approved, and workers are now finishing the work inside the building. The pavilion has been standing on the hospital grounds since 1972. In three floors, there were previously 32 beds for children and 28 beds for adults. The newly reconstructed pavilion has been named "Čtyřlístek" by the children from the region. "The new modern building in our complex is at a high technical level, its operation will be more economical, but above all, it represents better facilities and comfort for our patients. The reconstruction of the pavilion was carried out with a clear aim to improve the quality of the environment and healthcare," said the hospital director Martin Metelka. The first of three phases of repairs began in 2002 with the reconstruction of the basement and the first floor. A separate entrance to these areas was also newly constructed. During the second phase of repairs, the hospital completed the renovation of the interior spaces and additional floors, the roof, and the construction of a separate entrance for the future children's department. The third phase took place last autumn and included the reconstruction of the access ramps, completion of the facade, and interior spaces of one section. The relocation of individual departments to the new building began in January this year. According to the new layout, the new Čtyřlístek pavilion is divided into three parts. The children's department will occupy the entire length of the building on the third floor, having its own entrance, staircase, and elevator on the eastern facade of the building. The medical microbiology department is located in the first basement and the first floor and also has a separate entrance. The remaining spaces will belong to the infectious diseases department.
