Vsetín

Vsetín - The Vsetín town hall has recently completed the renovation of the local funeral hall. The construction work lasted over half a year and had total costs of nearly 30 million crowns. The first funeral services in the renovated premises could take place as early as mid-February. This was reported by the town hall spokesperson Eva Stejskalová.
The reconstruction began in June. Throughout the repairs, civil funeral services in Vsetín had to take place in replacement locations, such as the church of the upper congregation of the Czech Brethren Evangelical Church or in the ceremonial hall at the Jewish cemetery.
The funeral hall has been equipped with a completely new structure clad with special insulating double glazing, waterproofing, air conditioning, cooling, and modern interior furnishings. "A roof over the staircase and sound system have also been newly built, and the building now also includes barrier-free access," stated the mayor of Vsetín, Květoslava Othová.
The architecturally interesting building of the Vsetín ceremonial hall was constructed in the early 1970s. After thirty years of continuous use, it was necessary to proceed with the reconstruction due to its very poor technical condition. Problems were primarily caused by insufficient thermal insulation. In the summer months, the temperature inside the building reached up to 50 degrees Celsius.
