BLANSKO - Representatives of the town hall in Blansko are considering having the ten-story building from the 1970s, located in the city center, demolished. For several reasons, it does not meet current requirements. The glass and concrete structure is, above all, in very poor technical condition. "Next year we will find out how much its removal would cost," said Blansko Mayor Jaroslava Králová to ČTK today. She added that the tax office will move out of the building in April, and the property will be completely vacated. According to Králová, the decision about the future of the building cannot be postponed. Experts have determined that its renovation would cost around one hundred million crowns, which is too large an investment for the town. The building is also unsuitable for conversion into apartments, and due to its technical parameters, it cannot be transformed into a parking garage. There are plenty of available office spaces in the city. Although the key decision regarding the fate of the Blansko high-rise building is still pending for the local councilors, most of them agree that it would be financially advantageous and architecturally the most suitable for the city center to demolish the object and build a new building in its place.
