Žďár nad Sázavou - An educational trail will be opened on May 24 in the village heritage reserve in Krátká in the Žďár region. In the Vysočina region, where there are only three village reserves and one village heritage zone, this is a unique project. In Krátká, which is now a local part of Sněžné, one of the most valuable units of folk architecture has been preserved, characterized by small mountain farmhouses. The educational trail, consisting of a total of 15 stops, will be aimed at parents with children, said the spokesperson of the Žďárské vrchy Protected Landscape Area, Jaromír Čejka, to journalists today.

The most remarkable buildings are the farmhouse with the registration number 12, as well as buildings number four and number 31. These are timber-framed structures with a gable roof finished with a cabrin. Only about seven buildings are permanently inhabited, the rest belong to weekend cottage owners. The Protected Landscape Area has its Ecological Information Center in Krátká, while the National Heritage Institute has a recreational facility.
Visitors will find panels with information not only at the heritage sites but also by the meadow and stream during the tourist season from June to September. A printed guide will also be available.
The educational trail was created in collaboration with the management of the Protected Landscape Area, the Žďár organization of the Czech Union for Nature Conservation, the Horácké Museum in Nové Město na Moravě, and the municipality of Sněžné. Krátká was established in the third wave of colonization. It is one of the youngest villages in the Žďár region. It was founded in 1727 on the site of a cleared forest. It was previously named after the stream Teplá. It was inhabited by forest workers and also people who worked in the ironworks in Kadov.
