In the Trade Fair Palace, films about architecture are being screened

Prague - Films about modern and contemporary architecture and its creators are being screened for free at the Trade Fair Palace from today until Friday. The exhibition has been organized by the hosts of the Architecture Week festival, which will take place again in the fall after last year's domestic premiere.
    Its organizers were inspired by similar events held annually in European metropolises, which aim to present architecture to the public in an engaging way. Another goal of the Prague festival is also to contribute to the urban development of Prague and to present contemporary projects concerning the city to visitors.
    The film screening at the Trade Fair Palace is primarily intended for students, professionals, and architecture enthusiasts, according to the organizers. It runs from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, featuring about sixty films, mostly of foreign origin, including the popular "Shumná města."
    Through the films, which are kept in their original language, viewers can learn more about the work of famous architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Frank Gehry, Jean Nouvel, Charles and Ray Eames, as well as the creations of the Bauhaus. The organizers have prepared brief annotations in Czech for the screened films.
    The second Architecture Week is set to take place in Prague from September 29 to October 5. This year's edition will showcase architecture from the Netherlands, Italy, France, Slovakia, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, and Belgium. For example, Dutch architects are organizing a seminar on social housing, and the Goethe Institute will host a lecture by German architect Wolfgang Lorch, one of the authors of the restoration of the New Synagogue in Dresden, which was damaged during Kristallnacht and later bombed.
