Pardubice - 40 percent of municipalities in the Pardubice Region do not have a land use plan. The data was provided by the regional office to ČTK. Without this essential document, it is not possible to build homes on greenfield sites, as these areas were not designated for construction in the past. "We have 13 local parts that were not included in the old land use plan, and residential development was not counted there. But now there is a demand. We have therefore identified new areas where family and apartment buildings can be created. If we do not finish the new land use plan this year, it would be bad," said Václav Neubaer, the mayor of Městečko Trnávka in the Svitavy region, to ČTK. Municipalities that cannot develop further will be helped this year by the Pardubice Region with subsidies of 4.2 million crowns. The grant is intended for municipalities with up to 3,000 residents. Of the 451 municipalities in the region, 272 have a valid land use plan, which is exactly 60 percent. "Municipalities suddenly realized that they cannot build anything and that the building office will not permit construction on greenfields. This year, the municipalities of Plchovice, Podlesí, Pustina, Zádolí, Zálší, and Leština have newly requested the preparation of a land use plan in the Vysokomýtsko region," said Marcela Kubešová from the Department of Land Use Planning and Regional Development in Vysoké Mýto to ČTK. For a land use plan grant, Městečko Trnávka and Brněnec in the Svitavy region, Němčice and Vlčí Habřina in Pardubice, Kostelec near Heřmanův Městec and Krouna in Chrudim, or Žichlínek and Hejnice in Orlickoústecko have applied, for example. "Some municipalities have urban studies, which are non-binding documents for supporting tourism or addressing transportation issues. If municipalities want to grow, they need a land use plan that determines buildable areas," said Zdena Loumanová, an official from the Department of Strategic Development of the region.
