In Orlová, a new multifunctional building is under construction

Ostrava - A new multifunctional building is currently being constructed in the center of Orlová in the Karviná region. The three-story structure will fill the last gap in the western part of the center. The building will include shops and offices, said Deputy Mayor Radislav Mojžíšek to ČTK.
    The representatives of Orlová approved the intention to build this structure more than two years ago. At that time, discussions were also starting about the reconstruction of the municipal office, and therefore one of the conditions for construction was the future investor's agreement that the post office, which is currently part of the office, would be relocated to the new building.
    "In this spirit, negotiations between the city leadership and the regional management of the state enterprise, Czech Post, took place for more than a year. However, the post office subsequently decided, allegedly based on the anticipated rental price, that it would not move into this new building and would seek potential other solutions for its location," Mojžíšek stated. He added that the investor had to revise the plans due to this complication based on the requirements of other interested parties, which also resulted in delays in the entire construction.
    The multifunctional building is expected to be completed this summer. After this completion of the western part of the center, the city intends to focus on its eastern part, specifically the area between the municipal office and Prior, as well as the office building itself. "The aim is to create a functional small square from this area, supplemented by further development. It is also necessary to consider a functional connection between the western and eastern parts of the center interrupted by the heavily trafficked Masaryk Street," Mojžíšek explained.
