Retirement home in Zdice - current state
Prague - A new pavilion will be built at the retirement home in Zdice in the Beroun region for 44.8 million crowns. It will have a capacity of 40 beds, of which ten will be designated for clients with Alzheimer's disease. The construction was approved today by the Central Bohemian Council, said regional councilor for social affairs Zuzana Jentschke Stöcklová (CSSD) to reporters.

She noted that the number of clients with Alzheimer's disease is increasing, and more beds are needed for them. The senior home will also operate a daytime center and a nursing service, and the extension will include a dining room, a social room, a nurse's room, and a clean laundry storage. The existing facility in Zdice has a capacity of 70 places.
The Central Bohemian Region has about 4,000 people waiting for placement in retirement homes. However, this number cannot be taken absolutely, as some may be registered on the waiting lists of multiple facilities. Therefore, the regional government assumes that there is a real shortfall of about 1,000 to 2,000 places.
The region has several retirement home projects in progress. Recently, construction began on a home in Beroun, the tender for the contractor of the retirement home at the Kladno hospital has concluded, and the completion of the facility in Uhlířské Janovice in the Kutnohorsk region has been approved.
