Telč (Jihlava Region) - Students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague will showcase their works in Telč. Visitors to the exhibition will see approximately fifty architectural models of significant Czech and world buildings. Telč is a great place for this initiative, as it attracts a large number of tourists during the summer, said faculty representative Marie Kovandová.
The models were created during the teaching of the subject of model design. In this subject, students learn about the importance of model making, materials, and technologies for their production. "Each student verifies the acquired knowledge independently by creating their own model of a selected architectural object," Kovandová stated. According to her, people will see models such as the Müller Villa by Adolf Loos, functionalist villas in the Baba settlement in Prague, and St. Wenceslas Church by Josef Gočár.
The exhibition will start on Friday at 10:00 AM at the faculty's teaching center in Telč and will last until September 10. For high school students, the faculty offers a guided tour with commentary and the opportunity to try model making on site.
The Czech Technical University in Prague is one of the largest and oldest technical universities in Europe. Currently, more than 24,000 students are enrolled across seven faculties of CTU. For the upcoming academic year, the school offers 44 study programs and 159 fields of study within them.
