Prague - The Slavia football stadium in Prague-Vršovice will not receive its occupancy permit even a year after its opening. The hygienic authorities are concerned about excessive noise limits. Therefore, the building authority for Prague 10 will not issue an occupancy decision to the stadium's owner, E Side Property, but will extend the trial operation by a month. Jan Charvát, a spokesperson for Prague 10, said this today. Consequently, events at the stadium will continue to be prohibited after 10:00 PM. The building authority is expected to issue a decision by the beginning of next week.
The stadium, which Slavia rents for its matches from E Side Property, was opened in early May last year. Because the building did not meet the required noise limits, the building authority did not grant the occupancy permit. However, it allowed for one year of operation in a trial mode. This means that the owner cannot hold any events at the stadium after 10:00 PM, including football matches. However, if a situation such as an extended match arises, the owners can, according to E Side Property's marketing director Kristýna Svobodová, request an exemption from the building authority.
According to Charvát, the building authority will now extend the trial operation for another month. This gives the owner another chance to rectify the deficiencies preventing the occupancy permit. "Then we will see what happens next," Charvát said. Since the decision has not yet been officially issued, representatives of E Side Property do not want to comment on how they will address the situation further.
