JIHLAVA - Private companies are planning to build several hundred new apartments in Jihlava. In addition to Czech investors, Spaniards also want to enter the construction in the regional city. The city is focusing on preparing locations for family or atrium houses. Over the past few years, around 1000 apartments have been added in Jihlava, but according to real estate agencies, demand remains high. Workers from growing industrial companies need to secure housing, as found out today by ČTK. A building with 72 apartments in the Horní Kosov area will be completed in April by the Jihlava PSJ holding. "In July, the first tenants should move in," said spokesman Miroslav Fuks. Interested parties can choose between apartments of various sizes - from studio apartments with a kitchenette to duplex apartments with six rooms and large terraces. The basement will have underground parking for 60 cars. Residents will also have access to a green zone and a playground. Prices per square meter range from 17,500 crowns to 23,000 crowns. "There is particular interest in studios priced up to 650,000 crowns, and we also register significant demand for larger apartments with at least three rooms," noted Fuks. In April, the Třebíč Pozemstav will begin construction of three apartment buildings with 77 apartments, to be completed by the end of next year. In the area between Ladova and Dr. Jiřího Procházky streets, near the hospital, buildings are planned totaling 210 apartments, including an eleven-story building. Prices will range from 800,000 to 2.6 million crowns per apartment. The speed of construction for the entire complex will depend on demand, according to the investor. The company Grupo Picasso, founded by a group of Spanish entrepreneurs, is preparing to develop a temporary parking lot on Křížová Street in Jihlava. A building near Masaryk Square is expected to offer 30 more luxurious apartments. Preparations have been halted by the negative stance of heritage conservationists. "The city has appealed to the region, and it should be clarified this week," said Tomáš Lakomý from the city development department. According to him, about 1000 new apartments have been added in the city in recent years, and a similar number is still being prepared by investors. Therefore, the city will prepare plots for individual construction. By autumn, it will prepare a site for almost 40 atrium houses in Helenín. "We would also like to prepare an area for free-standing family houses, where everyone could build a house according to their taste," he stated. Consideration is being given to plots in Vysoká or Hruškových Dvorech. According to real estate agencies, demand for apartments in Jihlava continues. Studios sell better. They are bought by workers from all over the country and from Slovakia who commute to companies Bosch Diesel or Automotive Lighting. Small apartments are sufficient for them, as they return to their families for the weekend.
