Prague - Today, the Chamber supported an amendment that will strengthen the state's oversight over the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA) and the Czech Chamber of Authorized Engineers and Technicians Engaged in Construction (ČKAIT). In the authorization councils of the chambers, the representation of the state will be firmly determined. The government proposal is heading for discussion in the Committee for Public Administration and Regional Development. The left blocked its approval already in the first reading.
In the case of ČKA, the members of the council will include representatives from the ministries of regional development, the environment, and culture, while the authorization council of ČKA will consist of representatives from the ministries of regional development, transportation, agriculture, and industry.
Both chambers are self-governing institutions with nationwide jurisdiction and mandatory membership. They, for example, ensure the examinations of professional competence or the granting and revocation of authorizations. Both chambers also prepare and conduct examinations for candidates for the position of authorized inspector.
