Plzeň - A year after the demolition of the entire Pilsen exhibition grounds, the Israeli company Plaza does not have a permit to build a commercial and entertainment center and multiplex cinema worth 1.2 billion crowns. This is reported by today's Plzeňský deník. Plaza took over the area from the city on April 1, 2005. After that, the security guards stopped monitoring it, and homeless people and groups of young people began to gather there. Plaza demolished the devastated buildings and applied for a building permit, which it still does not have. The building authority in Pilsen is still missing some documents.

After failing to meet several contractual deadlines, the city could have terminated the lease agreement for the seven-hectare area for 99 years several times. The councilors even recommended this course of action to the city council. However, both parties eventually agreed on extended deadlines and a ten-million-crown fine that Plaza will pay for the delay. According to the addendum, the city hall can now unilaterally terminate the contract if any of the deadlines are not met, and all constructions and demolitions will pass free of charge into the ownership of the city.
Representatives of Plaza continue to insist that a complex of hundreds of shops, a supermarket, a multiplex cinema, and bowling will be built. They must complete the occupancy permit by spring 2008.
