The Přerov Town Hall supported the owners of significant buildings

Přerov - Owners of historically significant buildings in Přerov will receive support for their restoration this year. The Přerov city hall has allocated approximately 200,000 crowns for the repair of facades, windows, and sandstone plinths in the city center. Similar subsidies are also provided by the Olomouc and Šternberk city halls.
    "We provide owners with subsidies of up to 70,000 crowns. The goal is to improve the appearance of the historical part of the city and the protected area of Přerov," said Přerov mayor Jiří Lajtoch (ČSSD) today to ČTK.
    The subsidies will help with repairs for homeowners on Kratochvílová Street and on Horní Square this year. "Annually, we allocate up to 300,000 crowns. Most homeowners on Horní Square have already taken advantage of this offer; the facades there are colorful, and the support has accelerated the restoration of the local buildings," added the mayor.
    The city hall encourages homeowners in Přerov to improve their appearance through an annual competition for the most beautiful facade in the city. The winner of the competition, which has a four-year tradition in Přerov, receives 50,000 crowns.
    Money is also distributed to homeowners for facade repairs by surrounding city halls in the Olomouc region. For example, in the regional capital Olomouc, the city hall shares a subsidy with private owners and the Roman Catholic Church each year, which it receives from the Ministry of Culture for the restoration of buildings in the city's heritage zone. This year, the city will provide them with more than 1.1 million crowns. Homeowners in the city heritage zone in Šternberk, Olomouc region, can also receive contributions for facade repairs, the establishment of restaurant gardens, or new furnishings. The city has decided to allocate five million crowns for a completely new program, which will last until 2009.
