Prague - The Prague Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) will not cancel events planned at the Center for Architecture and Urban Planning (CAMP) due to the threat of coronavirus. However, lectures, discussions, and talk shows will be moved online. CTK was informed of this today by IPR spokesman Marek Vácha. Only a small café and the Urbania exhibition will remain open at CAMP, which can currently accommodate a maximum of eight people at a time. Detailed information can be found on the CAMP website. IPR is a city organization.

"The safety of visitors is our priority. Therefore, we immediately decided to move the program online and have prepared a new virtual hub with all online activities of the center. We are not closing or canceling anything; we are just all meeting online," said IPR director Ondřej Boháč.

Thus, CAMP will offer online, for example, a discussion on Major Changes in Prague in the field of rail transport, a continuation of the lecture series Atlas of Modernism, and the talk show Camping until the end of March. There is also a lecture planned by architect Robin Winogrond from the Swiss Studio Vulkan, and a regular podcast titled Siren Test will be part of the online program.

"People can also explore the CAMP YouTube archive. They will find great lectures with leaders in world architecture," said IPR Director of External Relations Adam Švejda.

IPR is a city-funded organization that was formed by transforming the City Development Authority under the administration of former mayor Tomáš Hudeček (then from TOP 09). The annual budget of IPR is over 300 million crowns. IPR is responsible for urban planning. CAMP was opened in September 2017, and the institute organizes educational events and discussions there and informs about major construction projects in the metropolis.
