Prague - Prague is striving to acquire the historic complex Chaloupka in the middle of Prokopské údolí, which the state wants to sell. It has requested a halt to the competition for the sale of the complex and a gratuitous transfer to the city. In an interview with ČTK, councilor Jana Plamínková (STAN/SZ) said this. The Office for State Representation in Property Matters (ÚZSVM), which manages the property, did not want to comment on the situation. In the hundred-year-old building, which previously served shepherds and later miners, there is now an eco-cultural center. It is operated by nature conservationists. According to the councilor, this function should remain. "This is a unique building in the middle of the natural monument Opatřilka - Červený lom in Prokopské údolí. The idea that such a place would be bought for commercial use or housing is absolutely unacceptable to us," Plamínková stated. "Currently, there is a transparent selection process regarding these properties that has not yet been completed. After the selection process is completed, more information will be available," said ÚZSVM spokesman Pavel Hortig in response to ČTK's inquiry. The state and municipalities should cooperate in such cases, according to the councilor. Properties of this type should not end up in private hands, Plamínková believes. A similar case is being resolved by the city council regarding a former recreational facility in Tichá Šárka, which the Ministry of Finance is selling to a commercial company. The city leadership does not agree with this.
