Prague - By the end of this April, Prague will present a proposal for a change to the zoning plan for the area in front of Thomayer Hospital in Krč. Citizens and affected institutions will be able to express their opinions on the proposal. This was stated to journalists today by Deputy Mayor Petra Kolínská (SZ/Trojkoalice). A metro D line station and new development are to be created in the area in front of the hospital, which the city has agreed upon with the landowners.

"We would like individual investors and city representatives to coordinate their activities so that a fully-fledged part of the city is created here and not just solitary buildings,"
Kolínská said.

Currently, a meeting of representatives of landowners, the public transportation company (DPP), and the Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) is being prepared. They will discuss what the development on the properties will specifically look like - for example, where the new streets will lead. "IPR is responsible for the quality of the project from the city's perspective," Kolínská said.

The city advocates a single requirement that the exits from the future metro station are inside the buildings. This is similar to what occurs in the B line station Národní třída or Chodov on line C. How the metro will connect to the entrance of the hospital has not yet been decided. According to Kolínská, Vídeňská Street should not be widened, as the Prague 4 town hall considered in the past.

The first stage of the metro line D construction between Pankrác and Nové Dvory could begin in 2019 and be completed by 2023. Prague aims to start geological research in September 2018. This November, it plans to announce a competition to find a company that will conduct the survey. The city has also developed a construction schedule and divided it into stages.

Metro D will connect the center with the southern part of the city. Initially, construction will begin on the section from Pankrác to Písnice, followed by the remaining two stations Náměstí Bratří Synků and Náměstí Míru. Metro D is estimated to cost 50 billion crowns. It will operate with automated, driverless trains.
