Plzeň - Pedestrians and cyclists will link the center of Plzeň with the area of the Plzeňský Prazdroj brewery after 30 years. The city has recently started the construction of a footbridge over the Radbuz. By August, it will lead to the brewery courtyard in front of the visitor center building. Prazdroj initiated the construction five years ago and contributed to its design. The bridge will be part of a municipal project in Štruncovy Sady, a recreational and sports zone near the city center, costing 72 million crowns. This was stated by the manager of tourism and historical heritage of Plzeňský Prazdroj, Jindřiška Eliášková.

"The city is building the bridge with its money, we are making its connection through the roofs of our garages. A corridor will be created that will lead to the visitor center," she said. The footbridge will start from the former Gate of Athletes at the stadium in Štruncovy Sady. Prazdroj will invest nearly three million crowns into the corridor, which will be completed by the end of June. The bridge's approval is expected in September. The brewery would welcome its opening on October 5, for its 170th anniversary.
"It benefits us, but mainly the city, because we bring nearly a quarter of a million visitors to the area annually, and these people have trouble getting into the city," Eliášková noted. According to her, the bridge will also be beneficial for the residents of Plzeň, as it will shorten their journey to Doubravka and Slovany. The bridge will connect Prazdroj with the Brewery Museum, historical underground, and link them to interesting tourist destinations in the city, such as the square and the synagogue.
Visitors of the brewery will walk along the river through a corridor between the gymnasium and the stadium to the underpass under the highway, the so-called mouse hole, and beautifully maintained Mlýnská Strouha will lead them into the center.
