Olomouc is preparing the reconstruction and expansion of Pavilion A at the exhibition grounds

Olomouc - The Olomouc City Hall wants to repair and expand the main pavilion A of the local Exhibition Center Flora. Thanks to its completion, employees of the company, exhibitors, and visitors to the area will enjoy new facilities. According to preliminary estimates, the costs will exceed 290 million crowns, nearly half of which could be covered by investments from the European Union. The remaining part should be paid by the city. This was stated to journalists today by Mayor Martin Novotný (ODS).
    The planned intention of the city, which owns the exhibition center, includes, according to the mayor, a complete reconstruction of pavilion A, an expansion of its exhibition area, and the establishment of facilities for catering services. "The newly reconstructed pavilion should serve a multifunctional purpose so that it can host events such as balls or concerts," the mayor said.
    The city has been planning the investment for a long time. According to the original intention, the Exhibition Center Flora was also to include a new conference hall, which the city does not wish to invest in now. "This is also due to the fact that the private sector is preparing several projects of this type in Olomouc, and we do not feel the need to compete with it. We have tried to optimize the project as much as possible," Novotný said. The city could start the investment at the turn of spring and summer next year.
    The joint-stock company Exhibition Center Flora Olomouc was founded in 2000 by the Olomouc City Hall, which is the sole owner of the company. The history of the exhibition center dates back to 1966 when a budget organization called Olomouc Exhibition Grounds was established by a decision of the District National Committee in Olomouc.
