Olomouc - The Olomouc City Hall is preparing an information campaign about the reconstruction of Denisova and Pekařská streets in the historic center. The city will organize a public meeting and ensure a person who will communicate with the public during the repairs. The city hall aims to minimize the impact of the construction, particularly on entrepreneurs and residents of the streets, said the Deputy Mayor Martin Major to reporters today. The city hall will begin reconstruction in March, which should be completed by the end of August. The investment, which will cost approximately 100 million Czech crowns, will involve repairs to the tram track, road surface, and engineering networks that are in a state of disrepair. "We are aware that the construction will have a significant impact on the daily life of the streets and their surroundings. We want to inform the public about the risks in advance," said the Deputy Mayor. He added that at a meeting with the public, which will take place in mid-February, representatives from the city, construction company, city police, and transportation company will answer questions. "Additionally, we decided on an unusual approach. Throughout the construction, a liaison officer will be available for interested parties, a person who will inform about the most current developments," said Major. The city hall had previously decided to hire a company that will monitor the condition of the buildings during the street repairs. The monitoring would be used by the city hall in potential negotiations with insurance companies. The repairs of the streets in the historic core of the city have been prepared by the city hall since 1999. The start of the reconstruction has been delayed, among other things, by the stance of several property owners who disagreed with the suspension of the trolley bus lines on the facades of their buildings and with the registration of an easement in the real estate cadastre.
