Restored Heritage. A subtitle: Conference on Courage, Inspiration, and Visions. It is in this spirit that a new series of meetings is being launched, which over the past 10 years has become known as MÁME VYBRÁNO. This year's already the eleventh edition is unique in that it focuses on transformations that have been awarded, whether it concerns Patrimonium pro futuro of the National Heritage Institute or a series of regional competitions. The event will take place on May 31 in the refectory of the Dominican monastery in Prague.
The program includes projects that show the way in the world of heritage. Meder's house, one of the most valuable Gothic houses in Žatec, which collapsed in the 1980s and has only recently undergone complete restoration. The dining room of Libuše, engulfed in flames in 2014 and rebuilt using traditional craftsmanship methods, as was customary in the past. The synagogue in Polici, adapted for the needs of Sokol, which now again tells the story of the Jewish minority in the Czech lands. Nine chapters from the endless book about the preservation of what we inherited from our ancestors.
This year's conference is also exceptional in its concept – personalities do not come with prepared presentations but will be equipped with photographs and, above all, their own experiences, which they will discuss with skilled moderators. Guests present in the hall will also have the opportunity to ask questions – they can thus gain information useful for their own projects. The MÁME VYBRÁNO conference will be a heritage exchange of ideas and experiences.
