Only one applicant has applied for the high-rise building in Blansko

Blansko - Only one investor has expressed interest so far in the ten-story building in the center of Blansko, the tallest building in the city. The city hall wants to sell the dilapidated building. Because the business proposal from the first interested party did not seem serious to the councilors, the city will offer the high-rise building to potential investors again. This was stated today by Ivo Polák, the deputy mayor of Blansko.
    Some time ago, the city placed an advertisement offering the building for sale. A special committee was supposed to select the winner among the representatives. When the members of the committee opened the envelope with the investment proposal from the only interested party today, they found out that they wanted to build public toilets in the building. However, a similar facility managed by the city hall already exists in the center of the city.
    "More interested parties have inquired about the state of the building. Perhaps we gave them too little time to consider their plans. Therefore, we will announce once again that we want to sell the building," said Polák. If a suitable interested party is not found, the city hall will have to take care of the building itself. Its repair will cost 100 million crowns.
    The building from the 1970s could be renovated into a parking garage, hotel, starter apartments for young people, or offices. The city also considered complete demolition. The building is clad with large glass windows that do not fit properly. There are gaps allowing air to pass through, resulting in significant heat losses, and the interiors need to be modernized. The building is currently empty; it used to house the tax office.
