Olomouc - The company Namiro will spend up to half a billion crowns to build a multifunctional building with an underground parking garage on Hynaisova Street in Olomouc. The above-ground part will house the town hall. Investor Roman Navrátil told the Czech Press Agency that placing the parking spaces underground will increase the construction cost by several hundred million crowns. The multifunctional building will be built on a plot that currently serves as a parking lot. "The parking capacity remains unchanged, there will be space for about 310 cars. The price also remains the same, an hour of parking should cost twenty crowns," Navrátil stated. Of the four above-ground floors, two and a half floors will be occupied by the Olomouc town hall. Deputy Jiří Martinák confirmed that the lease agreement will be signed for at least ten, possibly twenty years. "This step will allow us to concentrate the town hall, which is scattered across five addresses throughout the city, in a single location," he explained. He added that people will be able to walk from the parking garage to the adjacent building, where a significant part of the town hall is currently located. Namiro intends to lease additional commercial spaces. In order for the parking garage to be transformed into an office building, the city must amend the zoning plan. Initial steps in this direction have already been taken. "Due to administrative timelines, this will take another two years; only then will we begin construction. The building should be completed in three years," Navrátil clarified. The consolidation of the town hall has another vision. The city hall also wants to occupy the historic building of the dental clinic on Palackého třída, which adjoins the new town hall building. The university hospital has previously confirmed that it will vacate the building. The formation of the new regional police headquarters, which will be located in the building on Kosmonautů Avenue, where 70 city officials currently sit, is also pressuring the city hall to relocate its employees. The Olomouc town hall employs 620 officials. Approximately two hundred have been based in the new building on Hynaisova Street since 2006. In the adjacent planned multifunctional building, another 200 from today's workplaces on Švédská, Barvířská, Kateřinská, Kosmonautů, and Dolní náměstí streets could operate in three years.
