Pardubice - Two planned apartment buildings in the inner courtyard of the Višňovka housing estate in Pardubice are still occupying officials, politicians, the investor, and also local residents. The developer modified the construction project to accommodate the people, but they do not like that the construction will become even denser and want it to be stopped altogether. Given that CZ Stavební Holding is proceeding according to the law and has almost all the necessary construction permits, politicians do not have much leverage. This was stated today by the mayor of the fifth city district, Jaroslav Kňava.
"The council already expressed a negative stance once, but it is a political statement; we respect the general dissent of the citizens. We will again convene a public meeting with the company to defend the revised project," Kňava said.
The construction company wants to build two apartment buildings with a total of 12 apartments in the inner courtyard of Svobody and Marty Exnarová streets. In the project, the buildings have already been reduced by one floor, part of the parking spaces has been proposed underground, and children's playgrounds and greenery have been added. The distances from the existing buildings have also increased. One older two-story house with several apartments, which has the same height as the planned construction, will have to make way for the new building. However, the investor's concessions are still not to the liking of several people.
"It is a small space; we would absolutely suffocate here; car traffic would increase. I've lived here for a very long time, and I can't imagine it," said Blanka Fráňová to ČTK, who has lived in an apartment building on Svobody Street since the 1960s.
The developer has obtained a zoning decision and submitted an application for a building permit. They are now waiting for a statement from the building authority, said Jan Tichý, the vice-chairman of the company's board. "The building is 12 meters high, so it absolutely cannot be a problem for anything. From a technical perspective, everything is in order, so mainly it’s about the feelings of the people," he stated.
The parties involved are still negotiating, and the city leadership has also become involved, hoping that the disputes will be resolved. The city hall's authority is currently zero. Some time ago, residents even drafted a petition, which was signed by dozens of residents of the inner courtyard. However, it did not have all the necessary formalities. Nevertheless, the district is addressing it. "From our side, the project cannot be contested; the investor has met the conditions, there is nothing to object to," added deputy mayor Alexander Krejčíř.
