The most modern justice complex in the Plzeň region will be completed this year

Plzeň - The most modern judicial complex in the Plzeň region will be completed later this year in Plzeň. The closed complex for five components of justice near Chodské náměstí is currently undergoing the second phase of modifications, with ongoing reconstruction of facilities for two state prosecutor's offices and for the Probation and Mediation Service. The building, which also serves the District Court of Plzeň-North, is also creating new attic offices for judges. Miroslav Šašek, the director of the administration of the Regional Court in Plzeň, told ČTK.
    "The second phase of modifications is estimated to cost 88.5 million crowns, the first was similarly priced and began in 2007. This is certainly the largest project in the field of justice in the region in the last ten years," he stated.
    In the modern complex of judicial buildings, the District Court of Plzeň-North and the District Court of Plzeň-South are already operating. After the completion of the second phase, the state prosecutor's offices for both districts and the Probation and Mediation Service will relocate there. Access to the complex will be provided by a single entrance. "Originally, each building was supposed to have its own separate entrance from the outside, but we wanted everything to be under one lock," Šašek added.
    A parking lot, along with archives and auction rooms for all Plzeň courts, will also be created in the courtyard area by the end of the year. Until now, each court had auction rooms within its own premises, but the Plzeň-City Court had to rent space in Bolevec for this purpose.
    According to Justice Minister Jiří Pospíšil, concentrating in one complex will ease the work of all components of justice and save hundreds of thousands of crowns annually spent on commercial rents. For example, the Probation and Mediation Service alone spends over 400,000 crowns each year in this way. There will also be greater comfort for citizens, and the entire complex will be fully barrier-free.
    The first buildings of the complex were acquired 15 years ago after the disbandment of military courts. In 2003, additional facilities were transferred from the army free of charge.
