Prague - Visitors to the Prague botanical garden will today get their first view from the ten-meter lookout tower, which has stood on the slope above Troja since the beginning of September. The lookout tower has received a building approval. It will be accessible until the end of October, said garden director Věra Bidlová.
The six-ton steel lookout tower designed by Čestmír Suška is located in the northern part of the botanical garden. Inside the structure, there is a spiral staircase, and the surface of the tube is adorned with decorative openings, allowing for a view outside. The garden paid over three million crowns for the project.
"The lookout tower will be accessible during the garden's opening hours until the end of October. Then we will close it for safety reasons and reopen it on the first of April next year," said the director. Visitors to the garden can also see seventeen sculptures by Suška and also by Lukáš Raise at the extensive outdoor exhibition.
