Prague – In the future, access to water along the embankment by Prague's Stromovka should improve, traffic should be calmed, and the bridge to Císařský Island should be remodeled. There will also be hygiene facilities created. The city is currently having a transformation study prepared. Modifications could be made in 2026. Katka Zelingerová from the Institute of Planning and Development (IPR) stated this in response to a query from ČTK today. Residents will also have the opportunity to express their opinions on the future form of the embankment. Prague has been reconstructing Stromovka for several years; the latest completion was the renovation of the area in front of the Šlechtova Restaurant.

After reconstruction, the embankment should offer Prague residents another place for recreation in the section behind the railway line. This should relieve the main part of the park in front of the line. At the same time, the connection from Stromovka to Císařský Island and further to Troja towards the zoo and Troja Castle would improve.

The draft study that the city is having prepared calms traffic on the embankment path. A café and hygiene facilities, which are lacking in this part of the park, are also planned along the embankment. The bridge to the island could also be renewed. Its appearance is not yet clear. One variant considers a lifting footbridge that would allow all vessels to navigate the local shipping canal.

According to Zelingerová, the city's leadership should discuss the study for the transformation of Troja Embankment in the summer of next year. "After the approval of the study, it will be possible to prioritize the preparation of temporary measures that would, for example, calm the surrounding traffic," she stated. The overall transformation is a long-term project estimated for completion in 2026, she added.

In recent years, the magistrate has also had ponds repaired, among other things, and has created a new one in the location of the former Rudolf’s Pond, where previously there were marshy lands. Rudolf's tunnel has also been cleaned.

Stromovka, or the Royal Game Preserve, is one of the oldest parks in Prague. It was likely established in 1268 by Czech King Přemysl Otakar II as a hunting preserve. It was opened to the public in 1804.
