Lectures

The Institute of Construction I at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague warmly invites all interested parties to a series of four publicly accessible lectures by visiting professor Mirko Bauma.

The ability to produce cast iron, steel, and iron industrially changed the world. Mass production and the price accessibility of these materials meant not only new forms of labor since the end of the 18th century, but also a radical transformation of society and its aesthetic as well as economic-political thinking.

The lectures pay tribute to the constructors of the industrial revolution and follow their influence on the work of civil engineers today. They will be conducted in Czech. Each lecture lasts 90 minutes, followed by a space for debate.
