Znojmo - The Ministry of Culture has declared the old building of the Znojmo hospital a cultural monument. According to the ministry, the building represents a significant architectural example of a monumental hospital building from the early 20th century, as stated in the ministry's decision. The entire complex is currently changing owners. The representatives of the South Moravian Region approved its sale for 40 million crowns to the company Nailis77 at the beginning of November.

The old hospital is located on the outskirts of the city conservation area. It was built between 1906 and 1908 by the Znojmo construction firm of Karel Wittka according to the plans of the city construction advisor Adolf Janisch. The interior furnishings were precisely in line with those of the hospital in Vienna at that time.

Since its establishment, the building has been used as a healthcare facility almost continuously. However, its interiors have been gradually modernized.

The complex was managed by the Znojmo hospital, which previously had its headquarters there. It has since moved to new premises but does not have sufficient capacity, and therefore part of its operations still takes place in the old hospital building. Consequently, the buyer will also sign a lease agreement with the hospital upon signing the sales contract. There is also a long-term care hospital on the premises, which remains the property of the region.

The old Znojmo hospital is situated on the edge of the historical part of the city defined by the streets Vídeňská, Dyjská, and Na Kolbišti and is included in the protected heritage area. The area for sale is approximately 30,000 square meters. The intention to sell was first approved in November 2012 and has been published on the region's official notice board about ten times.
