Cheb - This year, Cheb will renovate two courtyard tracks in the city center. Work has already begun in the courtyard on Valdštejnova Street, and there are plans for the reconstruction of the courtyard track at the junction of Dlouhá and Hradební Streets. The renovations of the courtyards aim to enhance neglected corners of the city, as well as increase the number of parking spaces, thereby alleviating the overcrowded streets in the city center, said Deputy Mayor Miroslav Plevný to ČTK.

"In Valdštejnova Street, we will implement park renovations, new paths and sidewalks, public lighting, or a connection for a hydrant. We will also create places for legal parking. Until now, people parked here as well, but essentially illegally, because there were no designated parking spaces," Plevný stated. After the renovations, the courtyard should provide spaces for 38 cars, which could ease the situation on the surrounding streets where finding a parking spot is difficult.
In the courtyards, the city is establishing so-called resident parking spaces. They are offered for long-term rental. For an annual rental, applicants will pay 300 crowns per month, for a three-year rental the rate drops to 250 crowns per month, and for a five-year rental to 200 crowns per month. "However, payment must be made in advance. The money is then reused for further similar renovations," Plevný noted.
The renovations of the courtyard on Valdštejnova Street will cost 5.75 million crowns and should be completed by the end of May.
