Prague - While working on the cladding of the Bouda of the National Theatre in Prague (ND), a space that is always used for unconventional projects at the end of the season, a section of scaffolding collapsed this afternoon towards Divadelní street near the historic building.
"Fortunately, no cars were passing by at that moment, and no one was injured," said ČTK spokesperson for the Czech Republic's first scene, Tomáš Staněk. According to him, the police have closed Divadelní street and firefighters are removing the scaffolding.
Bouda has been created since May 9 on the piazzetta of ND, where the Czech Republic's first scene will present texts by the recently deceased philosopher Egon Bondy. Directors Jan Nebeský, Viktorie Čermáková, Daniel Špinar, and members of the Buchty a loutky ensemble will rehearse them. In the main roles will be performers such as Eva Salzmannová, Jaromíra Mílová, David Matásek, Ondřej Pavelka, Kateřina Buriánová, and Milan Stehlík. The premiere will take place on June 13.
